weekly production 9
This week me, Yanick and Darren (my group) finally finished our music video for our media production. As I said in the last weekly production It took us almost the whole of the half term to film it, 2 weeks of editing and 8...scratch that 9 weekly productions...and a hell of a lot of editing but still...it was worth it. Since this the the 9th weekly production and the final one out of all of them...were just gonna skip to the point. This week I contributed by...(sigh) you know what forget, you know how contribute in lessons because I have been saying it in the past 3 weekly productions. I tap out the beats in the song and I check if the lip syncing is on point with the song were using because if the lip syncing was off point then it wouldn't look right so there...that's contribute... I contribute by doing the same thing every week yes it gets boring after a while when I'm talking about the same thing every weekly production but it's the only thing I know how to contribute by and the reason it's the only thing I know how to contribute by is because it's ONLY JOB ROLE I HAVE IN THE FLAMING GROUP!...(sigh)...anyways (apart from that out burst) this fits in with the production because..well...I know I say this a bunch of times but...you know what forget it, this fits in with the production schedule because 1.The scenes in the video reminds us of the risk assessment and what we had to be careful for while filming, 2.The same locations we filmed over the half term are going to be in the music video and 3.ALL OF THIS..is going to be happening in the music video. This also fits in with my job roles because I check if the lip-syncing is on point with the song and I tap out the beats in the song so when every time it drops the scene cuts.
Were there any problems...well this would probably be part of the production were I say that the lip syncing in the video in the video is a problem but since we it was solved in the lesson thanks to the editor (Darren) it was no longer a problem, so no...we didn't have any problems while finishing the editing. What are our plans for the following of next week...well...to be honest I think this is where we draw the line...we pretty much finished filming and editing our music video so I guess that's it. It's been a long, hard working, tiring...mostly exhausting ride but still it worth going through because if we didn't we would of never finished it but still I don't what were doing next week...guess were going to have to wait till then...

Weekly Production 8
This week me, Yanick and Darren (my group) almost finished our music video for our media production. It took us almost the whole of the half term to film it, 2 weeks of editing and almost 9 weekly productions (this is the eighth one) but it was worth it because if we only had one week I don't if we'd of finished it. This week I contributed the same way I always contribute....adding and saying some of my ideas, taping out the beats in the song and editing some of the scenes in the music video. Another way I contributed this week when I was checking when the scenes needed cutting and if the lip syncing was on point with song in the music video...This fits in with the production because...well...as I said many times in these weekly productions this is going to be happening in the music video...this also fits in with my job role from tapping the beats because well...I said this before or something similar to this but every time the beat drops, the scene cuts...so when the scene cuts it adds a jump in the video and that's...how it fits in with the production. Did we have any problems...well...to honest we didn't have any problems this week, and it's funny because out of the days of filming, the 2 weeks of editing and 8 weekly productions...this is the first time this week we never had a problem with the filming or the editing, or if we did then the problem with the media production would still be the lip-syncing because like I said in the last weekly production it's either not on point with the song or comes in at the wrong timing apart from that what are our plans for the following of next week...well...to honest...I guess we would be either continuing and maybe finishing of our media production as soon as we finish that...well...I don't what our plans we'll be planning to do after that...guess we're going to have to wait until then.

weekly production 7

This week me and my media group (Yanick and Darren) continued editing the our music video for our media production we filmed over the half term. I contributed this week because my job role (besides editing the music video) was to tap out the beats of the song we were using for our music video, only this time instead of tapping the beats on the table, I was tapping the space bar on the i mac so my group (Yanick and Darren) know then edit and cut out the scene we shot. This also fits in with my contribution because this is my job role for my group as well. This fits in with the production schedule because...well... like I said in the weekly production 6 this was going to be happening in the music video that we happen to be still editing. The only problem we (our group) had during the week, we were editing our music video was just that the lip-syncing in the music video is off and still needs more work because when it comes on, the lip-syncing either looks like it's to fast or comes on screen at the wrong timing of the song. This problem also affects me as well because the way I see it...it just looks...well...amateur...and I also fear that if we don't edit it properly before the dead line then it well just look wrong and...well to be honest I don't know how else to describe it but besides from that the editing coming along nicely and (the pieces are)slowly coming together. From what I know the end line for our music video production is next week (13th of March) So I guess my plans for the rest of next week is to continue editing group music video production.

weekly production 6

This week me and the rest of my group started the editing of our music video we filmed over the half term. During the half term we started filming on Saturday then finished the production on Friday and started editing on Tuesday. We decided to take it in turns on who was editing on the video. Yanick edited on first day, then Darren did the editing for next lesson, then I handled the editing for the lesson. This shows how I contributed this week because I wasn't just editing the shots of locations we filmed but I was also tapping out the beats in the song so that way my group knows when to cut the scene of the video which (in a way) adds a jump in the video. This fits in with the production of the music video because it happens throughout the locations of the video for example in the car park scene. Every time the beat drops the scene of the location cuts in the video. The only problem I had was that I sometimes struggled to cut or find some of the shots we filmed. Another problem I had was I sometimes lost track of what scene we were going to use next because I failed to pay attention. I still don't how I will over come this...in fact...I don't think I will ever overcome this at all...guess I'm gonna have to learn how to deal with it until I get better at listening to people. I guess my following plans for the rest of next week is to continue my group editing for our music video.

weekly production 5
During the week me and the rest of my group went to Ilford to film most of car park scenes for our music video. We asked if we can use the exchange car park couldn't use it so we asked if we can use the ilford liberty car park (which we were allowed permission to use through out the week we were filming there). I contributed this week because I was suppose to be lip-syncing most of the words of the song that we were using in the video. Another way way that I contributed was when I helped and operated with the camera when (Yanick) one of my group members couldn't make it because he was the camera operator in our group. This fits in with the production because this was going to happen in the middle music video when I was on the roof of the car park. Another reason why it fits in the video production is because in the beginning of the music video it shows a scene of me walking slowly to the roof of the car park to jump off. The problems that we had was just that sometimes we had to redo the shots again because I either kept lip-syncing at the wrong timing or lip synced the wrong lyrics because I could hear the words from the lyrics of the song. I over came this problem when one of my group members (Darren) brought his stereo when we went filming so when he plugged it into his phone I was able to hear to lyrics and lip-sync the words properly. My following plans for the rest of the week is to edit and put together my shots and locations for my music video. This happens to fit in with my job role because I am the editor of the group.

weekly production 4
This week I contributed by typing up the three sheets of the risk assessment for my group then saved it in my one drive account (so they can copy it from my one drive account and paste it on their media blog) then uploading it on my media blog. This fits in with the production blog because the risk assessment sheet reminds us that we should be careful while filming and to be aware of our surroundings. For example if we were to be filming in the street to the car park or on the building of the car park then we would need to be careful because we could get run over by a car or someone could fall of the building of the car park. I didn't come up with any ideas for the media production because I didn't have any due to us finishing the shooting script but we did have problems with typing up the risk assessment sheet because I struggled to think of any risks that can happen while filming. But in the end I overcame this problem when one of my leaning support teachers gave me some examples of what could happen and in the end I understood what I had to do. My plans for the following of next week is to start filming the scenes of our shooting script for music video.

Location Reccie
As a group we were told to find suitable locations for our music video.
We chose the Liberty car park, Romford as as a back-up location if we can not use the Ilford exchange car park and the road. We chose this location also because it is easy for us to get there it is nearby.
We also chose Westfield shopping centre car park in Stratford. We decided upon this because it is very big and spacious and well known.

We also chose Westfield shopping centre car park in Stratford. We decided upon this because it is very big and spacious and well known.

We have chosen to use the Ilford Exchange car park it's more central and we are going to use the same road for some of the scenes for the music video and it is closer for everyone in the group to get to This is a advantage because it is closer to the house location that we are going to film for our music video.

We chose to use Omar's house in Bengeo Gardens as a back-up house for the living room and the bedroom if we couldn't film some scenes of our music video at Darren's house the back-up house to film the some of the scenes of the music video for example the bed room and the living room we chose the back-up house because it is closer to the Ilford Exchange car park it is easier and closer to get to. Plus it is on the way to llford and is in the same location that we was going to use in the video. This would be an advantage because this would be our back up location if we couldn't use Darren's house for the music video.

Permission to film

Although the liberty car park is a local area and public place, we would be seeking permission to film there because it's also private probity because it's locked during certain times certain times. Also it is a public area. Public it will draw to much attention and we might not get the location anyway because of the strict security.

We wouldn't need permission for Darren's house because it is private property and his parents said that it was o.k because they gave us permission.
Another location we are using is the street outside the Ilford car park. We wouldn't need permission to film in the street because it a public location so we wouldn't need to ask anyway.

Job Roles and Responsibilities
This week our group chose job roles for the shooting of our group music video
The Job role that Yanick will be doing is being the camera operator because he knows how to use and operate a camera. I know he's used a camera before so this shouldn't be much of a difference to him
Darren is the director because he created and had the idea of what is going to happen in the video. He is also the production manager because he is the one who came with the idea for the production.

because I good at editting and I have done it before. Another reason why I
would be good at this job is because I did it during the me-vid and became good
at it, so now it shouldn't be new,
Or different me. The only difference is it's our music video
instead of my me-vid. I am confident in editting my group music video so I know
I will do a good job at it.Sunday, 8 February 2015

weekly production 2
This week me and my group worked on our shooting script for our video. In lesson Darren and Yanick worked on the intro of the shooting script and I counted, how many the beats there where in the song we were using, how many times it changes in the song and how many seconds long the scene should be in the shooting script for the video. On Monday I contributed this week by my making myself useful by counting the beats in the song. This fits in with the production schedule because every time beat changes the scene switches to a different location in the video. Another reason why it fits in with the production schedule is because it happens in the intro of the video. Another reason why it fits in with the production schedule is because the part where the beat changes at the same time of the location is going to happen in the video.
For example if the beat, in the intro of the song was to switch when Rashaan was walking up the stairs for example. In the video, the shot, (for example a mid-shot) would change to a in the same scene of location but an over the shoulder of him pushing the button of the elevator to the top floor. The only problems, we had was that I sometimes kept forgetting how many beats there were in a song or how many seconds long it was because whenever I counted them from the beginning of the song I ether had to recount from where I left off, or go back to the beginning and start again. I overcame this problem when my L.S.A showed me how to count them. After that I learnt how to do it and how I overcame this problem. My plans following plans for next week is to continue working on the lyrics of the song for my shooting script.

Bipolar pitch
Are there any areas of the presentation that you would like to give any more detail on ?
If I was to give more detail on any part of my presentation I would choose to give more detail on my planning schedule, my idea, my equipment and my creative concept. I would give more detail on my planning schedule because I could of spoke more about what days I was filming, which location I was going to filming and what date it would be on because I didn't mention it in the presentation but the dates I was going to film. for example if I was to say more about my locations I was going to film on I would of said that the first location that I would start filming is the streets of Brims down road. I would of also said that I would start filming on the 15th of February till the end the deadline on the 20th of February.
Another area of my present that I would add more detail on the equipment because even if I didn't have to say it in the presentation I would of said the reasons why I would use my equipment for example the reason why I would use a camera is because without the camera I can't film. Another thing that I would of added in the presentation is a camera charger because if my camera man was to be filming me in a location (for example on Brimsdown road) and the camera ran out of battery then I wouldn't be able to film anything because I wouldn't have the charger with me. The last thing I would give more detail on is the creative concept because if I was to change anything I would changed amplifying to interpretative because if I was to film a location for (example the doctor Escrobar scene) it would be matching the mood of the song because if I was to use amplifying it would match because the lyrics would be matching some of the actions in the video.
What did your audience identify as the strengths of your music video idea ?
The strengths that the audience gave me was the questions on my locations from my idea of the music video because I knew what I was going to use in my locations and what locations I was going to use in my music video. For example when someone asked me how my music video going to end it gave my a idea because after seeing the music video 'Stan' by Eminem I thought after Dr Escrobar comes back from somewhere he can find that Kaleb has hung himself.
Another strength that the audience gave me would of been when one of then asked me how I came up with my idea was and how it was going to start briefly. I knew what type of idea I was going to use in the beginning of video and how it was going to plan out it starts. For example when Klhio is lip-syncing the first verse he's sadly walking down the streets of Brimsdown road. This proves Goodwin's theory on what a contradicting video is. For example if he was to actually see double while the lyrics are saying 'and now I'm seeing double' it would an interpretive video. The last advantage that the audience gave me as a strength would of have to of been the part when one of the members of the audience asked why the artist was to wear white contact lenses. I saw this as a strength because it was part of my idea of the story for when Klhio turns into the monster later in the story
What did your audience identify as the areas for improvement ?
The areas of my Q and A that I would improve on is that I would think over more my answers more because when some of the members of the audience asked me some of the questions I didn't know how to answer some of them because they were to answer. For example when they asked me about the character's eye color and the his costume I couldn't deliver my answer to the question because I thought it would of made more sense if only his eye color changed instead of his clothing. This could be not just an area of my idea that I could work on and think over but also something that could be used for an improvement. Another area I thought that could use improvement was when one of the members of the audience asked me what going to appeal more to a boy than a girl because I couldn't answer it in proper detail. I thought that would of needed an improvement because the way I see it after hearing the lyrics and due to song being about bipolar I thought it would more targeted towards male than female. Plus I don't see a problem why a female audience can't listen to a song targeted towards males. The final thing that I would add more improvement would be the type of styles of lip-syncing because I didn't know I was supposed to imitate a famous artist that lip syncs (for example 50 cent).
What would you change if you were to make this again ?
If I was to make this music video again then I wouldn't change a thing because I like my idea exactly the way it is. Another reason why I didn't want to change anything is because when I was planing it I thought it would perfect for the music video because some of the lyrics match with some of the scenes of the different locations I'm going to have in the music video for example when Kaleb goes to see Dr Escrobar in the song 'Bipolar' it goes with the hospital scene that I am going to use in the music video where the scene shows Dr Escrobar talking to Kaleb in the perspective of lip-syncing the lyrics of the song. This would of been an Interpretive scene of the video because it would of been matching the actions of it which would of been proving Goodwin's theory on what a contradicting video is. The only thing I would change is the part where Dr Escrobar says 'I'm trapped in psychological prison' because when I heard it in the song 'Bipolar' I didn't know what location to use for the video when heard it. However if I was to use a location I would of use a green screen of a prison bar type of background while lip-syncing the third verse in the music video.
Rationale
This week we made a video Rationale on what idea we chose and what we were planning to use in our idea. In class me, Darren, Yanick and I got together in a group to decide who's idea we were going to pick and what music video we were going to make. On Wednesday I sat with Yanick and Darren to decide who's music video we were going to pick. After deciding for 20 minutes we decided to go with Darren's idea for the music video. I contributed by adding ideas on what I had on my mind even if I didn't have many ideas to I add I still contributed one of my ideas that I was going to use my music video at 1:13 seconds when I said that we could have a scene where the character could go and see a psychiatrist in the video to figure out what to do. I also contributed another idea when I said that there could be a mid-shot of him standing on top of a building and then it could go to a '12 hours earlier' sequence then it could go a scene of him in his front room lying on his sofa lip-syncing the first verse of the song.
Although we didn't use the '12 minute earlier' sequence this would of fitted in with the production schedule because it would of happened at the beginning of the video. The only problem we had was when I struggled to stay focused or come up with ideas. I knew what type of story we were using in our music video it's just that sometimes my mind goes blank and I can't think anything or what we could use in the music video. Another problem was when (Yanick) one of the the members of our group got a bit distracted twice because he was sometimes going to the other group to see what idea they were doing. I never did over come them that day but if I was to overcome it I would stay involved with the group next time and I'll try to be more creative with my ideas and if one of the members from my group was to overcome this he would stay more focused and not get distracted by other people. My plans for next leasson are to finish my group shooting schedule and to go over my shooting script for the following of next week.
