weekly production 6

This week me and the rest of my group started the editing of our music video we filmed over the half term. During the half term we started filming on Saturday then finished the production on Friday and started editing on Tuesday. We decided to take it in turns on who was editing on the video. Yanick edited on first day, then Darren did the editing for next lesson, then I handled the editing for the lesson. This shows how I contributed this week because I wasn't just editing the shots of locations we filmed but I was also tapping out the beats in the song so that way my group knows when to cut the scene of the video which (in a way) adds a jump in the video. This fits in with the production of the music video because it happens throughout the locations of the video for example in the car park scene. Every time the beat drops the scene of the location cuts in the video. The only problem I had was that I sometimes struggled to cut or find some of the shots we filmed. Another problem I had was I sometimes lost track of what scene we were going to use next because I failed to pay attention. I still don't how I will over come this...in fact...I don't think I will ever overcome this at all...guess I'm gonna have to learn how to deal with it until I get better at listening to people. I guess my following plans for the rest of next week is to continue my group editing for our music video.

weekly production 5

During the week me and the rest of my group went to Ilford to film most of car park scenes for our music video. We asked if we can use the exchange car park couldn't use it so we asked if we can use the ilford liberty car park (which we were allowed permission to use through out the week we were filming there). I contributed this week because I was suppose to be lip-syncing most of the words of the song that we were using in the video. Another way way that I contributed was when I helped and operated with the camera when (Yanick) one of my group members couldn't make it because he was the camera operator in our group. This fits in with the production because this was going to happen in the middle music video when I was on the roof of the car park. Another reason why it fits in the video production is because in the beginning of the music video it shows a scene of me walking slowly to the roof of the car park to jump off. The problems that we had was just that sometimes we had to redo the shots again because I either kept lip-syncing at the wrong timing or lip synced the wrong lyrics because I could hear the words from the lyrics of the song. I over came this problem when one of my group members (Darren) brought his stereo when we went filming so when he plugged it into his phone I was able to hear to lyrics and lip-sync the words properly. My following plans for the rest of the week is to edit and put together my shots and locations for my music video. This happens to fit in with my job role because I am the editor of the group.

weekly production 4

This week I contributed by typing up the three sheets of the risk assessment for my group then saved it in my one drive account (so they can copy it from my one drive account and paste it on their media blog) then uploading it on my media blog. This fits in with the production blog because the risk assessment sheet reminds us that we should be careful while filming and to be aware of our surroundings. For example if we were to be filming in the street to the car park or on the building of the car park then we would need to be careful because we could get run over by a car or someone could fall of the building of the car park. I didn't come up with any ideas for the media production because I didn't have any due to us finishing the shooting script but we did have problems with typing up the risk assessment sheet because I struggled to think of any risks that can happen while filming. But in the end I overcame this problem when one of my leaning support teachers gave me some examples of what could happen and in the end I understood what I had to do. My plans for the following of next week is to start filming the scenes of our shooting script for music video.

Call Sheet

Location Reccie

As a group we were told to find suitable locations for our music video.

We chose the Liberty car park, Romford as as a back-up location if we can not use the Ilford exchange car park and the road. We chose this location also because it is easy for us to get there it is nearby.

We also chose Westfield shopping centre car park in Stratford. We decided upon this because it is very big and spacious and well known.

We have chosen to use the Ilford Exchange car park it's more central and we are going to use the same road for some  of the scenes for the music video and it is  closer for everyone in the group to get to This is a advantage because it is closer to the house location that we are going to film for our music video.

We have chosen to use Darren's  house that is in Goodmayes to film some of our scenes  for example the living room scene and the bedroom scene for some of our music video. The advantage is that this location is closer to the Ilford exchange car park.

We chose to use Omar's house in Bengeo Gardens as a back-up house for the living room and the bedroom if we couldn't film some scenes of our music video at Darren's house the back-up house to film the some of the scenes of the music video for example the bed room and the living room we chose the back-up house because it is closer to the  Ilford Exchange car park it is easier and closer to get to. Plus it is on the way to llford and is in the same location that we was going to use in the video. This would be an advantage because this would be our back up location if we couldn't use Darren's house for the music video.

Permission to film

Although the liberty car park is a local area and public place, we would be seeking permission to film there because it's also private probity because it's locked during certain times certain times. Also it is a public area. Public it will draw to much attention and we might not get the location anyway because of the strict security.

We wouldn't need permission for Darren's house because it is private property and his parents said that it was o.k because they gave us permission.

Another location we are using is the street outside the Ilford car park. We wouldn't need permission to film in the street because it a public location so we wouldn't need to ask anyway.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

This week our group chose job roles for the shooting of our group music video

The Job role that Yanick will be doing is being the camera operator because he knows how to use and operate a camera. I know he's used a camera before so this shouldn't be much of a difference to him

Darren is the director because he created and had the idea of what is going to happen in the video. He is also the production manager because he is the one who came with the idea for the production.

The Job role that I will be doing is being the editor because I good at editting and I have done it before. Another reason why I would be good at this job is because I did it during the me-vid and became good at it, so now it shouldn't be new,
Or different me. The only difference is it's our music video instead of my me-vid. I am confident in editting my group music video so I know I will do a good job at it.

weekly production 3

This week, me and my group continued working on our shooting script for our music video. I contributed by giving one of my group members (Darren) some of my ideas from the lyrics of our shooting script for the music video. one of my ideas involved a long-shot of Rashaan and Monique walking in the park, another one had a mid-shot of them playing Xbox in the living room. I also contributed by making the planning production schedule and planing on that days we were going to film for our music video. This fits in with the production schedule because those were the ideas that was going to happen in the video. The only problem was that I struggled to come up with ideas for my group and I find that a bit annoying because this happens to me every lesson. It's like every time I try to think of something my mind is just goes blank or when I DO think of something it's either been used before or been cut out. of the script. I don't know how I'm going to overcome this...in fact now that I think about it I don't think I'm ever going to overcome this problem. If I had plans for the next following week it would be still working on my shooting script for my group video.

weekly production 2

This week me and my group worked on our shooting script for our video. In lesson Darren and Yanick worked on the intro of the shooting script and I counted, how many the beats there where in the song we were using, how many times it changes in the song and how many seconds long the scene should be in the shooting script for the video. On Monday I contributed this week by my making myself useful by counting the beats in the song. This fits in with the production schedule because every time beat changes the scene switches to a different location in the video. Another reason why it fits in with the production schedule is because it happens in the intro of the video. Another reason why it fits in with the production schedule is because the part where the beat changes at the same time of the location is going to happen in the video.

For example if the beat, in the intro of the song was to switch when Rashaan was walking up the stairs for example. In the video, the shot, (for example a mid-shot) would change to a in the same scene of location but an over the shoulder of him pushing the button of the elevator to the top floor. The only problems, we had was that I sometimes kept forgetting how many beats there were in a song or how many seconds long it was because whenever I counted them from the beginning of the song I ether had to recount from where I left off, or go back to the beginning and start again. I overcame this problem when my L.S.A showed me how to count them. After that I learnt how to do it and how I overcame this problem. My plans following plans for next week is to continue working on the lyrics of the song for my shooting script.
